Abstract

Queer Housewives of New York City (Part 1 and 2) focuses on the cycle of “reality”. The highly produced reality TV show Real Housewives of New York City inadvertently makes heterosexuality appear compulsory by documenting the unfulfilling relationships of real women with their male partners. While this may be a reality unto itself, the remix provides the youngest “housewife” with a real alternative to straight companionship.
